What is an online surgery?

If you have the required equipment, you can speak face-to-face with Gerry or his staff without even leaving your seat. This may be useful to people who would like, but are not able to visit Gerry's surgery or constituency office.

In short, an online surgery is where you can communicate with Gerry on the internet, rather than in an office or a normal surgery location.

How can I meet Gerry online?

Please follow these three steps:

1. Check that you can access a computer that has all required equipment. The required equipment is:
   1. For an instant message (typing only) meeting - standard computer, internet connection, and either MSN or Skype (see above box)
   2. For an internet telephony meeting (like a phone call) - standard computer, broadband connection, speakers and a microphone, and either MSN or Skype
   3. For a video meeting (like face-to-face) - standard computer, broadband connection, speakers, a microphone, a webcam, and either MSN or Skype
   If you have any concerns about configuring your equipment for an online surgery, please contact a qualified computer specialist.
2. Contact Gerry's office to arrange an online surgery appointment. You will need to give more advance notice for appointments with Gerry than for appointments with staff. Please give Gerry's office your MSN or Skype information.
3. Gerry's office will use your MSN or Skype information to find you online at the time of your appointment. The online surgery will then begin.

Please ensure that you attend your appointment. If you cannot make your appointment, please inform Gerry's office as soon as possible.
